OMG!!!! I was not cognizant of world affairs in the 60s, but I do remember my family going to the movie theater to watch JFK announce that missiles would be aimed at Cuba. I was told this after everything calmed down and Cuba backed off. The adults seemed so worried and I didn’t see why, it’s over–no missiles were sent. However, during the telling of “Do You Hear What I Hear”, the memory rushed back and the lyrics painted for me what my family couldn’t. So touching, this may become my favorite Christmas Carol.
This episode was amazing!!! Like Marcia said, never knew about this. Changed the way I hear this song.
Hi, Duane here from Tinsel Tunes. Thank you both for your comments on my segment. This is one of my favorite songs and I got quite a surprise to find out what it was about while researching it.
