Another great show! Miss the boys. Amazon Prime has “Miracle on 34th Street” which would have been a great lead in for thanking the Post Office. I mean, if it wasn’t for Jack Albertson (postal employee that saw the Santa court story in the paper), there would be nothing to verify that there IS a Santa Claus. Amazon P has both the 1947 and 1994 movies–stick with ’47. Another great Amazon Prime Christmas movie is “Beyond Christmas”. It’s about 3 wealthy old gentlemen back in the 40s that test human decency. They each get a wallet, put in $10, their business card, then toss them out into the street. Two of the men think the wallets will be returned and one (very crabby) doesn’t. This is an odd film on so many levels: there’s sadness, happiness, supernatural events, “meet cutes”, and a few “what the heck?” items. For some reason, the film was also known as “Beyond Tomorrow” & “And So Goodbye”. Definitely a cult Christmas movie. Man, a month-long commercial to get to the next scene–hope the lovely actress that played Holly doesn’t “miss the boat” and not make it to that charming town, Port Caldwell. Wash your hands.
Thanks again for another wonderful podcast. Canada also has had record numbers with its postal service lately. With more people staying at home, the postal service is reaching “Christmas” level deliveries. Mostly packages for stuff ordered online. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for another great podcast Tim. I look forward to it every month. I generally just purchase my Christmas movies on iTunes so I can watch them anytime with having to worry about finding who is streaming them. My personal favorite is The Santa Clause with Tim Allen, and I think I am going to have to watch it this week. Thanks for all you do!
I noticed this was podcast number 066. Why the preceding zero? What happens after podcast 999? Will you start over at zero or will you add a fourth digit and continue on? Ooh, I can’t wait to find out. Only 77 years 10 months until it will be revealed. Anyhow, I really enjoyed #066 and the other 65 podcasts. Keep’em coming. You are very much appreciated sir!
Actually Rich, I’ve put the extra 0 on every episode (except 65 for some reason). Once we get past episode 999, they’ll “reboot” the show with a new cast and a new continuity lol
