  • Posted on March 25, 2018 at 1:54 am

As the era of Toys R Us comes to an end, we take a look back at the rise and fall of this toy giant. Plus we countdown YOUR suggestions for non-Christmas Christmas songs, get a recipe from the east, and pit Hansen against the Shins in a Who Sang It Best.

This episode is dedicated to the late Charles Lazarus. I tried to tell your story as best and as honestly as I could.

OMG, this podcast was chock full of info. It sounds like you’re really gonna miss Toys R Us, so sorry. You know Lazarus was the biblical man whom Christ rose from the dead. Maybe that will happen to Charles Lazarus’ Toys R Us. On a lighter note, I know now how I’m decorating my home for next Christmas. I’ll be needing lots of green wrapping paper. Although it may seem a little needy and cheap, I always gather last year’s Christmas wrapping to make items–came up with a great plan for those remnants, too!!! So thanks, but until they actually work out, I can’t tell you my plans. You know, the Happy Birthday song (which I understand is no longer copyrighted) should ALWAYS be a part of Christmas, cause – hey – who’s this holiday for (besides me)????

I had a Russian student in my office today and your accent is right on. Gave me a Christmas laugh in June.
